2016-04-06 Morgan's Canoe Rally

We had a get together at Morgan's Canoe from Thursday, June 2 through Sunday, June 5. There were 4 couples including Carie & I. It was a fun time as we explored the Indian mounds and museum nearby at Ft. Ancient on Friday, toured the courthouse in Lebanon and then on Saturday we all took a short 3 mile canoe and kayak trip down the Little Miami River. Morgan's Campground is situated right on the banks of the river. Very beautiful!

Several years ago Alan rescued a hawk and this weekend at the Ft. Ancient museum they had a stuffed hawk in the interpretive center of the museum and Carie had me take a silly picture of her so I combined the photo of my hawk rescue with her...Alan rescuing a hawk...

Morgan's is a great campground for bird watching and fellow camper Georgia used this bird identification book. It's one of the best I've seen.

Alan in the kayak prior to the Carie-crashing-into-the-log-incident. Alan to the rescue but it was an ugly scene with a lot of cursing...  :-| 

 

 On the way home Alan & Carie encountered Rick & Georgia with a brake issue on their Airstream! Carie provided company and conversation for Georgia while Alan provided a ride to the auto parts store for Rick.
