2014-06-14 - Indian Springs Campground

Just a quick blog post, we went camping at a campground we hadn't been to before and to a car show a co-worker was in with his newly rebuilt '68 Triumph. The show was in Aurora, IN right near the campground which is why we chose this campground, plus since we hadn't been to this CG before, thought it would be different. The campground was nice but no amenities and extremely close to interstate I-275 in North Bend, OH right on the Ohio/Indiana border, literally RIGHT on the border. The CG is great for an overnight stay for snowbirders heading North/South but as a destination campground it's pretty lame.

Co-worker Dave talking with Carie about his pride & joy Triumph there in the foreground. It took him 14 years to rebuild this and he did most of it himself, including painting it:

2013-11-28 Thanksgiving At Hunting Island, SC

Carie & I went down to South Carolina this Thanksgiving week to visit mom. We took the T@B and spent a few days at mom's and a few days at Hunting Island State Park. It was a great visit and a highlight was hand feeding a wild deer at our campsite late one night! We pulled in from visiting at mom's and the deer was at my birdfeeder gorging itself so we got out poured some more food on the picnic table and she came back so I grabbed a handful and she cautiously came over to eat. Pretty cool and Carie loved it!!!

7/13/13 Morgan's Canoe & Campground

Just Carie & I this weekend and we had a great time at Morgan's. Finally we got out this year. It's been a bad year for camping and we've only been out a few times due mainly to the lousy weather this year. This weekend, however, was stellar! low 80's with very low humidity and a breeze. Just beautiful! The river was quite high due to all the rain this past week but we had a good time canoeing it. Just found out they also rent tubes so may have to try that at some point. Also have to give a kayak a try since we never have and they look fun, and easier to maneuver that a canoe. Got a handful of pictures for the blog. The first are some pics of our campsite, enjoy...

Looking at our campsite from across the road (no campsite directly across from us)

Looking straight out of our campsite

Looking to the left with the office in view. The green roof next to us behind the truck is a shelter. They used to have a yurt under it but now it's just a tent site with a shelter.

Morgan's main canoe livery is a three mile Segway glide from the campground. They do canoe to and from the campground, too but we just went out gliding and here's where we went.

Not a great quality picture (sorry) but I thought it was pretty funny so posted it here anyway...
