2016-3-26 & 2016-4-9 NOVA Airstream Rallies

Well another camping season is finally here (!) and friends Tom & Ella graciously invited us to join them and their NOVA (Northern Ohio Virtual Airstream) group on two rallies this past weekend and two weekends' ago. Carie was only able to join us for a couple of days two weekends' ago at Deer Creek State Park and not at all this past weekend  :-(  Oh well...We all had fun and I got a few pictures of the first rally where it began as a rally then several Airstreamers canceled and then when it was just us and Tom & Ella unexpectedly two new Airstreams and their owners showed up so viola, let there be a rally! I only got a couple of photos of this past weekends' rally at Kandel's Campground in Walnut Creek, OH just to show the weather. It was rough with snow on day three and temps in the low 30's! But we still had fun touring Amish country.

The photo's start with the first rally two weekends ago...

Tom & Ella's brand new Airstream Flying Cloud 23FB (queen bed) and their just as new GMC pickup truck! They traded their previous Airstream, a 16' Bambi, in on this beauty! They got a package deal buying the Airstream and the truck both from Haydocy Airstream/GMC in Columbus, OH

Some activities we all did was go to the nearby Hopewell & Adena mounds. Very cool stuff!

Adena Mound

We ate lunch at the historic Carl's Diner in downtown Chillicothe, OH. This diner/building were originally used at the one time Worlds Fair back in the mid 1900's, I don't know the exact year, but they moved it from there to here. Oh, and the food was excellent, by the way!

Tom & Ella's "Charlie Button" in her jammies...LOL! Poor thing.

Brian & Brenda in their brand new limited edition Pendleton Airstream! This edition Airstream is new for 2016 and only 100 will be built. It celebrates Pendleton and the 100th anniversary on the U.S. National Park Service. Very exclusive Airstream with a lot of bells & whistles. Literally! It has a doorbell and it's decked out with a ton of Pendleton stuff including, blankets, towels, plates & dishes, even the awning is special edition by Pendleton!

2015-12-01 RVIA RV Trade Show

Went to the RVIA Trade show with a friend and got a great sneak-peek at what's coming for 2016! The wife & I are interested in the new Airstream Flying Cloud 26U Twin bed floor plan (yes, we're thinking about buying an Airstream) and they had the first one produced there at the show so got a few pictures of that as well as a short video that I posted to YouTube. The video is too big to add to this blog post but if you search "Airstream 26U Twin" it'll come up in the results. A few pictures of some other upcoming 2016 RV's, too...

The Airstream 26U Twin...

Here's the new 2016 Airstream "Pendleton" limited edition. Only 100 being made. It has the rear opening similar to the discontinued Eddie Bauer edition

Here's the all new for 2016 Little Guy/Pleasant Valley Trailer's T@G 6-Wide

The new 2016 Winnebago Fuse. It's built on the Ford Transit chassis. They call it a Class C but looks more like a B to me. It's diesel but they're to be coming out with a gas version later in 2016. I like it!

This thing is way cool! It's an RV concept from a start-up in New Zealand. I don't see it getting off the ground, though, because there are no campgrounds with sites that would accommodate opening it up into it's "L" shape, plus the cost (!), when I asked the price range he said "...in the upper hundreds of thousands..." !!!! Yea, good luck with that, silly boy...This was a scale model he had at the show and a Photo Shopped image of it placed in some scenery.

This is Lance Campers newest trailer for 2016. Instead of a dinette it has two recliners with an end table between them. Love the idea. Hope more RV mfg's go to this concept.
